Indiscipline is a blog of criticism and argumentation. That’s why we moderate the commentaries. It means that a commentary proposed have to be approved by one of us before being published.
A lot of non moderated blogs and opinion forums exist suffering troll. Indiscipline claim an exigency in matter of argumentation and we’ll only publish commentaries bringing new light on the articles, inviting to discussion, and enabling us to develop new arguments in a context of open minded debate, incomprehension and good faith. We will eliminate terse commentaries that would not be useful for argumentation or that would only express a simple agreement or disagreement.
Argumentation is an art, but also, in a certain way, a “discipline” of mind and debate.
We consider as valid every argument consisting in propositions expressing the reasons that enable to judge them true or false. In this context, argumentation consist in a chain of statements (facts or ideas) accompanied by the reasons (other facts, other ideas) that support them. Of course, there is a gap between a syllogism and a developed text as can be an article or its commentary, and interpretation and judgement will occur in communication : humans are not logical machines ! Nevertheless, it’s easy to differentiate between an interesting and valid argumentation and rhetorical eristic or common sense.
And now, have a good chat !
